A favourite among Hollywood make up artists on film sets, Au Courant has been around for quite a while and is gaining popularity as the spray tan of choice in Ireland.
I have been searching for the ultimate spray tan for a long time, so I took it upon my self to review the best spray tan I could find, after months of research, and I finally found it, very close to home. Spray tan reviews are everywhere on beauty blogs, but I wanted to do one for myself! Last week, I was invited to visit the Pink Emporium, Dundrum to try out one of the most famous spray tans available, Oh Courant. A favourite among Hollywood make up artists on film sets, Au Courant has been around for quite a while and is gaining popularity as the spray tan of choice in Ireland.
As with all spray tans, some preparation is required. The night before my appointment, I buffed by skin with an exfoliant to prepare it and remove any dead skin cells. I only applied a light amount of moisturiser as I find my skin adapts to tan for longer, if it is not over hydrated, but everyone’s skin is different. Wearing my worst tracksuit bottoms (always wear something old and loose to have a spray tan!) I headed along to the oasis that is the Pink Emporium on the top floor of the Dundrum Town Centre. The salon and day spa are really fabulous, and is a calm and quiet place to relax, away from the bustling shopping centre. The treatment rooms are of the highest standard in terms of space, layout and equipment and while being shown around, I was amazed at the size of the day spa which is still expanding this year. This is the ideal spot for a girlie day out I tell you!
Maintaining a spray tan is down to moisturising. I applied body lotion (my choice is Kiehls Creme de Corps) once a day, which kept my skin nice and brown for four days. The Au Courant full body spray tan costs €40 at the Pink Emporium.
